flash suggestions welcome!

hey guys
here are two things i did for flash class. i want to perfect them for portfolio. sooo any suggestions would be grand. the first is a site for a "modern furniture store" and the second is a portfolio site (assigned by our friend winslow) the portfolio site is the one that needs the most work. i have gotten some great suggestions from class during critique and i would love to hear some others! thanks for checking it out.

I actually wrote a really long crit of this yesterday, and I guess I accidentally closed the window before hitting "post"...I'll type it up again once I get off work.

Ok, let's try this again...

Furniture Site:
• Intro is a little too cheesy...reminds me of a certain school's art site. Most of the time simple = better.
• Needs an on/off switch for the music...it's messing up my iTunes.
• Is there any way to make the first page a little more interesting? I really like the layout once you're looking at a specific piece of furniture, but it feels a bit empty at the beginning.
• Don't use citizen - that's MY font.
• If this is going to be part of your portfolio, make about, location, and contact pages.
• You should be able to navigate back to any previous row of thumbnails by clicking anywhere on that row.
• Try and correct the gray-box-rollover-animation. It's behind some and in front of others.
• "Studio 101, etc." doesn't really seem all that important in your design...and it's the name of the company. I would try and give it a little more attention.
• I am a huge advocate of small text, but it becomes a little too small once you enter a section. (My monitor is at a pretty high resolution.)
• Roll over "diningroom furniture" once you're entered a section, then "bedroom furniture."

Portfolio Site:
• Buttons need a little work. They tend to extend when they aren't supposed to, and sometimes stick that way - the movement of them feels good.
• On your resume, it drives me crazy that "print." has its own line - dito for "2001."
• Love that you're not scared of using a lot of white space - that being said, it feels a little empty. But, that could be because there isn't much content.
• On the "resume" page, I would go ahead and display your resume to begin with and just have the "download" link in the menu bar. Pressing "view" seems like an additional step that isn't needed.
• When in the "contact" and "about me" sections, I suggest putting your info in the main window, and not extending the secondary one (like when someone first reaches the site).

Ok, I'll stop now. Just want you to know that eventhough I've written a lot of things here, overall you've done a good job. In the future, try and break out of designing everything in boxes and shapes - it's so much more fun. :)

Ok, I was totally kidding about the whole "don't use citizen" thing. Giga said I sounded like a biach...maybe I should've added a smiley face or something...
