last time (hopefully)

brace yourself as fickle winslow prepares to change his mind, AGAIN
Last week when i posted the last ones, and read the comments back about them, i wasn't sure i agreed, and am still not (i still really like the large logo with the little type underneath it) but after a bit more tweaking on the original idea, i do like it the best and is the one i will try to convince my client to choose. My only problem with the original, that the last way of doing it helps, is that the mark would not stay together if you rolled it down a hill, and the house doesn't feel very stable or robust, and that is where having the shape below adds the implication of sides that are missing to help you visually finish the house, and with the type forced to the same width below it, helps you feel that the house is a solid structure and helps the logo to stay together.
Posted by winslow at March 1, 2005 03:22 PMif you want to anchor it, put something organic like a swoosh underneath it, or a brush stroke with a slight arch. It could even be a different color.
Posted by: david at March 2, 2005 04:26 PMu might not be able to roll it down the hill but sometimes the implication of space in the negative can hold it together if u were to roll. :)
Posted by: sara at March 3, 2005 01:14 AMThe only problem with having the type keep the logo together and anchoring it...is that you will always need to use the type and the logo together...if you should choose to use the icon, solo, then the font underneath is not there, and then no anchor...I would put something at the bottom to define the bottom of the icon...just a thought
