To All You Crazy People...

who are getting married that is. I'm so sorry that I won't be able to make either of your weddings. I hate that I can't be there but I know that you'll be happy (even though I haven't approved David's fiance yet...I trust your judgement). I want to curse really loudly right now b/c I can't come home anymore, but instead I'll just say "poo." and shead a tear. It makes it worse 'cause I know that my plane is leaving in a few hours, and I won't be on it. Anyways....

I love you both SO, SO much. I'm sure you will both look beautiful. :) Congratulations guys!

(Wow...I made it through the whole thing without saying how scary and dull it is to be getting married...)

another website

this is a new website that i just designed, i also did the logo (mostly), but it will probably be going up soon. and the thing that is sort of special about it, but not really, and will probably pose more problems than benefits is that i did it completely with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). yeah for nerd programming on the web. so let me know what you think. i kept it simple because i am just designing the templates and someone else will be implementing all the real content. aight, have a good weekend!

HERE IT IS

not that these are really good or anything...

but i just wanted to post them up so that you people would have something to look at when you are bored.
These pictures are from kansas city, missouri where i went this weekend for a wedding. and i went out and walked around and took pictures for the first time in a while. and i found some that i liked and put them together in this gallery.
here they are

also, i shot some half-frame which i need to go and pick up now from wolf. so if any of them are "half" a good as cary's last ones, then maybe i will post them too. CARY YOU DA MAN! (put manly chest bumping sequence here) (put fist bumping here)

Guy's Animation

I don't think I've shared this with you guys, but this is an animation that my friend Guy did about a year ago. It still makes me laugh. Just thought it would make you laugh too. :) Later.

And oh yea...12 days left in Steph's and David's countdown...

so, as much i as i LOVE....

getting paid for a project, i absolutely hate dealing with the money side of things. I just never know if i'm getting screwed or cheating them. or right on the money. I need your help designerd superheros!! The rundown:
A particular design group, (we wont name names) that specializes in my dreamjob...i mean cd packaging and web design is subcontracting (is that the right word?) out to me a cd package (8 panel, front and back, tray card, and cd label). they have asked me what i would charge for such a thing and i have no idea. i told them a long time ago that i charge $30 an hour. but i dont know if that plays a role here or not.
so if the train is traveling west at 90 mph and another train is traveling east at 87 mph what does graham charge for this cd package?

a little mental_floss'n for steph and others...

well here it is and it will be being published soon too, the redesign of one the the mental floss departments, Scatterbrained. CLICK HERE

i will give i quick synopsis of my thoughts when doing these designs.

A. The goals were to give the pages structure and hierarchy while keeping a very jocular feeling.
B. So i created a large bar on the sides of the pages to signify which department you were in and then put the title in a large block to try and protect it from the craziness of the rest of the page and to make sure it is seen first. then i used a four column grid with rules to give stucture. then to break up that structure and to use it to my advantage i mainly used silhouetted images and ran them over and cut them off with the rules. and tried to turn the 2 demensional page into as three demensional a space as possible.
C. my favorite pages are pages 1-2 Novel Ideas, and the pages 5-6 Naked Lunch.
