Update
I know most would not care and I will get scolded by Slo. But Greer Hall is engaged to my old roommate Meaghan Henningsen. They are going to be married in St.Louis Nov. 4. Now that is wicketly wack.
They still live in B'ham. For those who like to keep up with one another.

To: Mom

I just finished this checkbook holder for my mom and wanted to share its superflyness with you guys. Not sure how it'll look on your monitors, but it's a dark gray bag with bright orange and gray threading, and a bright blue zipper. The next bag will have the thread matching the zipper, I was just too lazy to change it, and also wanted to see what it looked like. Let this inspire you to go make something with your hands. Gotta run! I'm in the zone...

longleaf revisions AGAIN...

sorry to keep bombarding with logos, but i really think that to work effectively on a logo, especially when getting to the final stages you need some fresh eyes on it, because i have been alone with this thing for too long now, and everytime i do something new i think it is the latest and greatest, and only after a night or two away from it do i realize which one is really the one. so thanks everyone for your comments.

Longleaf Homes, cont...
some new versions

i agree david, that have three close together does give that feeling of cookie cutter, and i have had that feeling all along, but no one else said anything about it, so i am glad that you did. that was one aspect of the mark that was bothering me, and also, like you said about showing that Longleaf will be concentrating on the details of one home and not just trying to do as many at one time as possible it another thought i had when making the comment that i did before. so i took those and did these. which concentrate more on the "one house" idea. that said, i think the second feels a bit to "cottagey" like that would be all he builds, so i guess i am leaning more towards something like the top one. and yes i know that one is not centered, my bad, didn't notice till i had made the jpg and uploaded it, so i didn't really feel like changing it. also, i think i have fixed the balance issue by removing the left side of the house line, and also made the tree less awkward and a little more noticable by giving it a more trunk-like line. i also brought the roofline down a bit because i felt it was a bit too high. and added the rounded door and the detail on the chimney to make the house a little less ghetto. whew that was a lot of typing. got to go make changes on mental_floss. peace crew.

l.entin
Hey guys, just wanted to show you a site I'm working on, and hopefully will finish by Friday. It is here. Go check it out and let me know what you think.
As a bit of a description, the client isn't looking for a site from which to sell her jewelry. She wanted a site to show her work in hopes of selling the entire line to upscale stores such a Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus. So, that is why there isn't any "buy now!" buttons. Currently there are only two sections that are finished: Watermelon Tourmaline and Industrial Organic. Mesh Armor should be finished by the end of the day.
Peeeeeace.

glow logo

Lord. please forgive me for being so girly...I needed the cash.

Here's 2 of the 4 logos that I proposed to Glow.com. Unfortunately we only had a few days to do them (yes, another rush job) and they had to look good on both their catalog (which I also designed, but I was not the one who chose the cover image - ech.) and their site. Sadly, it was their logo that they decided to design last, so we were limited by what they had already designed.
Glow.com is an online cosmetics/skincare site, that has hopes to be the next Sephora (www.sephora.com). However, they aren't entirely the same b/c Sephora has a very “sexy and fashionable” look, while Glow is trying to stick to the “clean and healthy” look that its clients have come to know. (They were previously known as Dermstore.com - which is still online.)
For the record, I had no choice on the colors I used. They were predetermined by the site. Also, it's hard to see in these images, but the non-script logo has a halo effect to the O. Unfortunately this image doesn't do it justice b/c we bumped down the opacity when printing it, but forgot to bump it up when putting it on the web. But anyhoo...it's pretty when it's right.
