Atmosphere Home Essentials Wall
my first soiree into retail space design:

this is a wall at atmosphere home essentials that i designed and helped build. It's 10ft tall by 15ft wide and is made up of 2500+ pieces of 4x4 lumber. here are some close ups

if you live in birmingham or the surrounding area, and love more modern designed furniture, be sure to drop by and check out atmosphere they've got great stuff!

flat file
posted this to my livejournal, but thought it may be of interest here too. winslow isnt the mofo who builds crap. though, i hardly ever do it, and it does it a lot. whatever.
so i mentioned a project i was working on the other day and now its done and being used to so here are some photos.
it's an old flat file drawer that was in two sections that we had gotten from a photo studio that went out of business a year ago give or take. the two sections were modular so i removed the bottom section and moved the legs that were on it to the bottom of the top section to make a mini version of the flat file that was to be used as our new tv stand. (i hated the old one. hated it. long story, but its had a pox upon it from the beginning)
the dvd player i have is slender enough to fit inside a drawer so i hacked out (metal drill bit, several metal files) a section on the back of the main unit and a piece from the back of the drawer itself and ran the video/audio/power cables through the hole.
as it was to hold my (inanely heavy) television, i wanted to reinforce the metal top as well as provide an visual/color element of that stand that matched our new shelving (photos of the shelves soon too). done easily enough--some wood, some sandpaper, some stain, some small bolts and thats pretty much it.
anyway. if you are still reading this i am impressed at your nerd prowess.
arrested development is brilliant. its a fact.
