at home for the wedding.

at home for the wedding. ohhh the excitement. sorry, it is way to easy to just be cynical all the time, i really am excited for my sister and will. i am also excited because alot of the family that will be in town i haven't seen in quite a while (2 years?) so that should be nice. it should also be crazy for the next couple of days, buy who cares. speaking of relatives they are showing up right now, more sometime later than this point in time right now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now which is before the point in time now ...

SCORE: CARY-12 ME-11 what a

SCORE: CARY-12 ME-11 what a comeback! so cary is trying to best me with his current streak. the go-ahead-run is on second and the top of the lineup is coming to bat. bottom of the ninth 2 outs, lets see what happens...

we are all very sad that the NORTY is going to the IRAQ and will have no access to the INTERWEB, of course real mail is much much better to give and receive than that crappy email stuff. but really, what can compare to a blog entry such as this? so again sadness is felt by all, and we wish the owner of Halfbeard™ all the best abroad.

so there has already been one offer of furniture, but we are still open for business and other items are still needed, specifically, a 42in HD wide screen tv, xbox, ps2, a queen size bed, cherry dining suite, most anything from the IKEA catalog, also specifically an eames lounger or Isamo Noguchi Glass Table those are just a few things that are needed, i may post more at a later date. and again please don't just think of yourself at this time of year when there are many needy college grads who could use your donation in furniture very much. and as always, all donations are tax deductible.

well, time to go to the thrift store...

SCORE: CARY-11 ME-11 3 in

SCORE: CARY-11 ME-11 3 in a row for cary, and possibly still going. speaking of which, Halfbeard™ also cary is going to iraq. which means that the whole digital sucks contest should be pretty one sided for a while.

nothing else i can say about.
john yam is going to be my roommate at the new apartment which is going to be cool. and hopefully we can get in there by the end of next week. if anyone has any furniture they wish to donate to the "House John and Winslow Project" we will gladly accept all donations. just send a digital picture of the item to freefurnitureforme@winslowtaft.com. thank you for all your donations they are tax deductible.

julie's wedding is on saturday... we are all excited for her and hopefully she hasn't exploded from stress yet.

HI everyone.
BYE everyone.

i will try and post more often as i might have somethings to say sometimes.

well since adrian is such

well since adrian is such a poopy pants i guess i will post, yeah, that and the fact that i haven't all week. yeah so this week was just another week, like any other, like all the rest, just like last week and probably like next week. but in the past two days i have been in the car about 18 hours total. you see, my dad bought a car (jaguar) in michigan so i had to drive up with him to get it and then drive back too. YEA for cool cars, BOO for having to drive so much to get them. and BOO to people who buy crappy tires and over inflate them so that when you buy a car from them and drive it home it almost causes a blow-out. those people are just dumb and mean, and do not deserve cars of such refinement as a jaguar (pronounced, jag-U-R) that probably came across as snooty, it is not meant to. it is just meant to let people know that if they are going to have a car as nice as a jag-U-R they should learn how to take care of it, and they should be able to afford name brand tires at least, sheesh bodesh. in other news

yeah...
so i hopefully will get to move into my apartment in bham this week, before i have to come home for my sisters wedding which is on SAT. so basically i am hoping that i can move my stuff over there on mon, or tues, or maybe even wed. morning, but that is the latest, so lets hope the lazy people at JH Berry can figure out how to change locks in day or less. well, dinner time in knoxville, got to go.

SCORE: CARY-8 ME-11 5 in

SCORE: CARY-8 ME-11 5 in a row, kind of anti-climactic. you know the rule of diminishing returns right? see when i went back to back it was awesome when i went back to back to back, i was pretty cool, when i went back to back to back to back, i was cool, and now it is just ok, i think i am ready to see someone elses stuff again. but it was fun while it lasted, now i am just wondering if i may get a gallery, which would be *NICE*.

on another note i am having fun being a photographer for a couple of days, and we got executive traveler done so needless to say i have been busy but it is good because i am actually making money. i also got an apartment so i am in bham for a while now.

downloading 900+ megs of photos

downloading 900+ megs of photos over USB takes entirely too long, why don't them put firewire on these cameras that take these rediculously huge file sizes? i mean, how much thought does it take to say, "hey this takes to long, lets use something that transfers faster." its that simple.

Posted by winslow at 07:01 PM | Comments (0)

yeah, so maybe i have

yeah, so maybe i have gone a bit overboard with the posts about getting photos on digital sucks lately, i appologize to all those who have not been getting their photos on in the mean time. it is not that i am trying to gloat, (and this is where communicating over the internet needs to come along) i am simply trying to show my excitement towards this event. so to all of those who must wait patiently while my photos own a week, my sincerest appologies!

i hate it when i

i hate it when i have typed like half of my blog and then the computer locks up on me. so i will attempt to retrace my thought pattern as it was 5 minutes ago and retype all the stuff i had typed when the computer locked up.

hello my lovelies
so the new site that i have been ranting and raving about getting to work on and putting up so that my graphic design stuff has a home is coming along but very slowly. but i think i have the general design of it down. now as for the navigation and stuff along those lines, i might have a few kinks to work out. so i guess i should shoot for a christmas update. that seems reasonable?! in the mean time i have scanned some holga stuff that was never printed and added it to my lomohome and also to my site, but not really to my site because you have to get the link from me to get to it. i enjoy them very much and am happy that i finally scanned them. i think that there are others that have never been properly scanned so if i feel the need (and find them, and have the time(i have too much time, i just don't use it)) i will scan them too. i also scanned (because it was cool and because most of you a probably still wondering what half frame is and what it looks like) a strip of half-frame film from the roll i shot on monday and this weekend. you will just have to imagine the 35mm sprocket holes along the top and the bottom. and that every two frames equals one 35mm frame (hence HALF-FRAME)

it takes a long time to burn DVD's, dang MPEG 2 compression.

i was wondering if you would find that brandon... i wonder how many other people know what we are talking about. my guess is that mr. norton definitely has, seeing as how I can't ever slip hidden links past him.

HAPPY 4th of July or

HAPPY 4th of July or is it MERRY 4th of July? JOLLY? i don't know, but in spirit of 3 days ago.

man, TONS (read: not much) has been going on since the last post, actually some stuff has been going on, and those things are, a trip to a Birmingham Baron's baseball game, and a swimming trip to Little River Canyon. both of which were fun, the canyon especially. maybe not as fun as climbing, but what can you do. the water was MOVING, making for some crazy (read: probably extremely dangerous seeing as how brandon and i both were pulled under a couple of times by them) currents. but we still managed some crazy swimming feats of strength. we also got to climb under the falls and jump out and let the current just sweep us out. very cool (read: kinda scary) [by the way is that getting annoying yet or what? i'll quit, i stole it from cary anyways.]

i took another roll of half-frame and a roll of lomo with mostly pics of NY on it to wolf today to have them developed and scatched for a nominal fee. unfortunately the roll of half-frame is not from the *new* pen d, but the EES because the D has some kind of problem with the winder and i am sending it back. also of unfortunateness to note, i accidentally shot quite of few of the first pics of the half-frame roll with the camera set to a 2.8 f-stop so it was shooting at 1/40 sec @ 2.8 and hence the photos will be wik (yes that spelling is correct) over exposed. but i noticed it eventually and so hopefully 2/3 of them with be good. even with simple cameras i manage to screw things up. i should work on that. so hopefully the pen d stuff will get worked out and i will have a working pen d again soon. we shall see.

also cary updated his site with ordinary people and i seem to be ordinary enough to have made the cut thrice. two pictures i must say i am very pleased with (1, 2) one of which i kinda look like [starving artist boy - morning coffee = "econoslow"] but thats ok, its a pretty accurate picture of myself in morning.

enough already, goodbye blue monday (oh yeah, i finished that book and i loved it, definitely wierd, definitely different, definitely good.) i think i will start Hocus Pocus now (meaning later).

PEACE! (that was so middle school)

Drag him out your window

Drag him out your window
Dragging out your dead
Singing I miss you
Snakes and ladders
Flip the lid
Out pops the cracker
Smacks you in the head
Knifes you in the neck
Kicks you in the teeth
Steel toe caps
Takes all your credit cards
Get up get the gunge
Get the eggs
Get the flan in the face
The flan in the face
The flan in the face
Dance you fucker dance you fucker
Don't you dare
Don't you dare
Don't you flan in the face
Take it with the love is given
Take it with a pinch of salt
Take it to the taxman
Let me back let me back
I promise to be good
Don't look in the mirror
At the face you don't recognize
Help me call the doctor
Put me inside
Put me inside
Put me inside
Put me inside
Put me inside
I keep the wolf from the door
But he calls me up
Calls me on the phone
Tells me all the ways that he's gonna mess me up
Steal all my children
If I don't pay the ransom
But I'll never see him again
If I squeal to the cops
No no no no no no no:
Walking like giant cranes ah
With my x ray eyes i strip you naked
In a tight little world and why are you on the list?
Stepford wives who are we to complain?
Investments and dealers investments and dealers
Cold wives and mistresses
Cold wives and sunday papers.
City boys in first class
Don't know we're born little
Someone else is gonna come and clean it up
Born and raised for the job
Someone else always does always pick it up
Get over get up get over
Turn the tape off.
I keep the wolf from the door
But he calls me up
Calls me on the phone
Tells me all the ways that he's gonna mess me up
Steal all my children
If I don't pay the ransom
But I'll never see him again
If I squeal to the cops
So I'm just gonna'

i love that song

i really shouldn't kid myself

i really shouldn't kid myself about my addiction to coffee. i always tell myself that i can quit, because it makes me think that i control my coffee intake and it isn't the coffee controlling the intake, but i know the truth because whenever i don't drink for a day or so, i get this amazingly awful headache that is completely uneffected my advil. i have this headache right now, and have all day. it actually started last night, but luckily it doesn't effect my ability to sleep. it actually makes me sleepy (and thirsty for COFFEE) well, all this to say, if i am going to drink coffee, i should just do it all the time and not ever quit. because i liek it! i like the way that you have to drink like 100 oz of water to make up for it, i like how my heart rate jumps up higher than it should normally be, i like how my hands shake and it is difficult to write legibly, but most of all, i like how much work i can get done in such a short amount of time compared to when i don't drink coffee. (can you tell that i miss it, i mean i have written this whole post about it.) i especially like the way it smells and tastes, mmmmmm mmmmmm good. this is what i drink, cheap and good, the way i like it. "the best part of waking up, is folgers in you cup." i would have to agree with that (most of the time). anyways, enough rambling, i think i will read a book now. goodnight...

Foth this is a camera

Foth this is a camera that my grandad gave me a few years ago. i just recently looked closely at it and noticed that it wasn't a kodak which is what i thought it was for some time now. so it is actually a Foth, which is a german camera, i couldn't find too much about it on the web, just a couple of sites, so i guess it is kinda rare, but not really worth anything. amazingly the bellows on mine look like they are in great condtion, unfortunately the aperature and shutter stick badly. anyways, it looks cool on a shelf.

now that people have used my bulletin board, i actually know who has been visiting, its pretty cool. and today i actually answered a question on it. i was a little too excited by the fact that someone (zac) asked me a question. but keep'em coming, i am full of information. or don't. i don't care. but the least you could do would be to make fun of me through it, or make fun of someone elses post. i mean, come on!

what am i going to do with this website?
